- USER GUIDE -- How to Browse ASCII files
- =======================================
-
- Congratulations. You've jumped to another ASCII file. <file56 BROWSE>
-
- Each ASCII file may contain jumps to other files. The jumps are indicated by
- filenames or program names enclosed in angle brackets. Select jumps using:
-
- ┌───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┐
- │ Arrow key method -- UP/DOWN ARROWS highlight brackets, ENTER key selects │
- │ Plus/minus method -- PLUS/MINUS keys move highlighter, ENTER key selects │
- └───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┘
-
- PC-Hypertext actually includes many kinds of hypertext jumps such as:
-
- Return jumps -- Press F3 to return to the previous ASCII file
- ASCII jumps -- To another ASCII file <file0>
- Network jumps -- To the top of a network <hyper.net 1>
- Topic jumps -- To a specific topic in a network <hyper.net 9>
- Cursor jumps -- To a network cursor position <hyper.net 9 4>
- Graphic jumps -- To a set of graphics file <file11>
- DOS jumps -- To DOS <file12>
- Program jumps -- To other programs <file12>
-
- REMINDER -- Besides the forward Up/Down arrow selection of jumps, you can
- jump back to previous files if you:
-
- ┌────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┐
- │ press the F3 key to return to previous ASCII files │
- └────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┘
-
- With F3 backjumps, PC-Hypertext remembers the last 8 files.
